What does it measure?
The Anti Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibody (ANCA) (IFA) with Reflex Testing for MPO & PR3 by EIA test: Detects and analyzes the amount of these autoantibodies in the blood. These are the most common ANCAs, the autoantibodies that target the proteins myeloperoxidase (MPO) and proteinase 3 (PR3). They are called pANCAs and cANCAs, respectively.Evaluates the presence of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA-C) in the body responsible for causing autoimmune vasculitis. ANCA-C attacks proteinase-3 of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell), leading to inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels.Evaluates the presence of antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA-P) in the body that are responsible for causing autoimmune vasculitis. ANCA-P attacks myeloperoxidase of neutrophils (a type of white blood cell), leading to inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels.
