This CD20 is a CD marker—a molecule on the cell surface that can be used to identify and type a particular cell in the body.
It is recommended in: Confirming the complete absence of B cells in suspected primary humoral immunodeficiency using both CD19 and CD20 markers. CD20 expression in peripheral T-cell lymphomas is diagnosed in lymph nodes, skin lesions, mediastinal masses, adrenal masses, gastric lesions, and pancreatic masses.
CD20 is a protein (cluster of differentiating 20) that is expressed on the surface of B cells, starting at the pre-B cell stage and also on mature B cells in the bone marrow and in the periphery. This CD20 is generally co-expressed on B cells with CD19, another B-cell differentiation marker. CD20 appears to play the main role in B-cell development, differentiation, B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling, and cell-cycle initiation events. CD20 is not expressed in hematopoietic stem cells, pro-B cells, or normal plasma cells that express CD20. This protein is found on B cells (a type of white blood cell (WBC)). It may be found at higher-than-normal levels in patients with certain types of B-cell lymphomas and leukemias. Analyzing the amount of CD20 antigen on blood cells may help to diagnose cancer or plan cancer treatment. The CD20 antigen is a type of tumor marker. It is also called CD20.
You will get the reports within 48 hours after the collection of the blood sample.
The cost of the CD20 Flow Cytometry test is Rs. 3,400.
The CD20 Flow Cytometry test is prescribed by your doctor after completing the assessment of your condition.
