The HDL Cholesterol test measures:The HDL Cholesterol test monitors a sample of blood to see how much cholesterol is present within high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particles.The HDL Cholesterol test also checks the total cholesterol, which is the sum of the cholesterol found in all the different kinds of lipoproteins.In contrast, HDL transports cholesterol to the liver so that it can be removed from the body.
