P-ANCA stands for Perinuclear-Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies. This test is also known as the MPO test, where MPO stands for Myeloperoxidase. This test is performed via the EIA method. This test helps to analyze, diagnose, and monitor forms of systemic vasculitis.
It is recommended in a few types of systemic vasculitis which are closely associated with the production of ANCA such as:Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener granulomatosis)Microscopic polyangiitisEosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg Strauss syndrome)Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN)
The MPO (EIA) p-ANCA test: Used to detect if you have a type of autoimmune vasculitis. The Myeloperoxidase (MPO) enzyme is found in the primary granules of neutrophil and monocyte lysosomes. Autoantibodies related to MPO (MPO antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies, i.e., ANCA) occur in several diseases and may be related to the pathogenesis of vascular inflammation in patients having microscopic polyangiitis (MPA).Patients with MPA often experience MPO ANCA and may also be found with azotemia, which is secondary to glomerulonephritis (pauci-immune necrotizing glomerulonephritis).
You will get the reports within 48 hours after the collection of the blood sample.
The cost of the MPO (EIA) p-ANCA test is Rs. 1,700.
MPO (EIA) p-ANCA test is prescribed by your doctor after completing the assessment of your condition.
