Your healthcare provider will suggest this stool culture test if they suspect you have a gastrointestinal infection or if you have continuous reoccurring diarrhoea.
It is recommended:
If you have experienced signs or symptoms such as diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and fever for a long time.
If the doctor suspects any stomach or intestinal infection.If you have any severe symptoms, such as extreme dehydration or diarrhoea from traveling to another country.
The stool culture test identifies the harmful microorganisms in a given stool sample. Escherichia coli, Shigella, Entamoeba Shigella, Campylobacter, Calicivirus, Rotavirus, Salmonella, Giardia lamblia, Bacteroides, and anaerobic streptococci are a few pathogenic microorganisms that may be present in the stool when your digestive tract is not functioning properly.
