Fructosamine is a glycated serum protein that is formed by the combination of glucose and protein in the blood. The higher the levels of blood glucose, the higher the concentration of fructosamine. Therefore, the fructosamine levels reflect the amount of glucose present in your blood. The glycation mainly involves albumin, which is the principal blood protein.
